Langtang Valley Trek 

Langtang valley known as the valley of glaciers located 19 miles far from Kathmandu. The eight days trek proceeds from Kathmandu sightseeing to UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The next days we head up to Syabrubesi with 8 hours scenic drive from Kathmandu along with mountain territory walking daily 6-7 hours you can reach up to Langtang valley on fourth day. The whole valley is surrounded by mount langtang lirung, snow capped peak, grassy lawn, mountain streams. Besides theses local wonders you can have the experience of Tibetan food, culture and daily lifestyles with ancient Buddhist monastery and glaciers in Langtang valley.

 

The last destination point of trekking is Kyanjin gompa, here you can stay up to one more day to get an opportunity to ascend kyanjin RI 4,350 meters. You will get 360 degree Mountain View of Langtang valley from the top. Then you will back track your route from Langtang valley to syabrubesi and drive back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary

After arrival at Kathmandu airport our company representatives will welcome you and then transfer to related hotel. After time to get refreshed, evening we'll meet and transfer for welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurant in the heart of Kathmandu and briefing about your trip. Today, after breakfast you'll visit different historical and cultural sites of the Kathmandu valley with our professional guide. You will go for the pilgrimage sites of Hindus temple Pashupatinath, the world biggest Boudhanath stupa and visit Swayambhunath stupa also known as monkey temple. After exploring the surrounding areas visit historical Kathmandu Durbar square with temple, unique architectures and Kumari (living goddess). Evening pre-trip discussion and introduce with our fellow trekking staff for your adventure trip. Overnight at hotel with Bed & Breakfast basis.

Today, we must depart early morning for the 7-8 hours drive to your starting point Syabrubesi at the foot of the Langtang valley. The road takes a scenic route, climbing high over the ridges to escape the Kathmandu valley and provides you with a superb panorama of the Himalaya including the Mt. Annapurna’s, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the peaks of the Langtang region that you will soon get familiar with. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.

Today, we trek to Lama Hotel (2,380 m) it takes about 5-6 hours. The trail descends along the ridge on Syabru's main street and then drops to the Ghopche khola (2,050 m). From then onwards, your trek ascends gently to Rimche (2,400 m) through Bamboo (1,960 m) and at the end you travel through level path to the Lama hotel. En route, you may get lucky and spot red pandas and monkeys in their natural habitat. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.

Today, trek to Langtang village (3,430 m) via Ghore Tabela which takes about 6 hours. At Ghora Tabela (3,000 m). The trail emerges from the forest. While hiking here, you can catch a glimpse of white monkeys and local birds. The trail continues to climb gently and the valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer months. A quiet monastery is found around here which we can visit shortly before arriving at the village of Langtang, the headquarters of the Langtang National park. Today, trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3,870 m). It's taken about 3-4 hours. The trail climbs gradually through small villages and yak pastures as the valley opens out further and the views become more wide-ranging. After crossing several small streams and moraine, the trail reaches the settlement at Kyangjin. We should arrive at Kyangjin by lunch time allowing some time to acclimatize and explore the area. It is a fantastic setting, with snow-covered peaks surrounding us in all directions. At this point, you can enjoy the panoramic view of Mt. Dorje Larpa (6,990 m), Langtang Ri (6,370 m) and Langtang Lirung (7,245 m). Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.

Today, we take rest and explore the area. We can visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri directly behind the village, for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang peaks. Early morning we visit Tserko Ri (5,000 m) for mountain sunrise views. After breakfast, proceed to Lama Hotel. Since, its mostly downhill, it is 4-5 hours walk from Kanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel. The trail goes all the way down hill through forest following the river. Pass through the ethnic Tamang settlements that follow religious and cultural practices similar to the Tibetans. Today, after breakfast we trek down to Syabrubesi. Enjoy the easy trail mostly downhill through lush green vegetation. On arriving Syabrubesi, we take our lunch. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.

Today, after early morning breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu. Arriving Kathmandu, transfer to hotel. You can spend the day leisurely or catch up on some last minute shopping or explore any sights you missed during your first day in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel with Bed & Breakfast basis.

Today, our company representative will drop you to the Kathmandu airport for your final departure for your home country or onward destination.

Langtang valley trek is suitable for any kind of person who is moderately fit, no previous experience is required. To condition yourself for the trek, some physical fitness programs such as walking, running, swimming and hiking are recommended before you embark on your journey. Any person suffering from a pre-existing medical condition or diseases must seek medical advice before considering any trek. 
 

Yes, our company representative will be there to greet you. He will be displaying your name outside the airport terminal. You will be transferred to your hotel by our private vehicle. 
 

Best season for trekking is usually March-April and October-November but Langtang valley trek can be done in February, June, April, May and December as well. 
 

Weather in the mountains is very difficult to predict. At night it is generally cold and the days are generally warm. The temperature could be as high as 25 degree Celsius to -20 degree Celsius low. 
 

During trek guesthouse does not facilitate with heater or air conditioner, but they have facility of hitting the dining area by providing kerosene or metal heater. USD 2 to USD 5 per person would be applicable to use this service and this is payable directly to the guesthouse.  
 

Depending on nature of travel we provide different vehicle service. We provide tourist vehicles for sightseeing, city tours and airport pickups-drops. The transfer from Kathmandu to Syabru besi and Melamchi pul Bazaar to Kathmandu will be by public bus as there is no facility of any tourist bus in this route. However we can arrange private vehicle if needed.  
 

There are landline telephone in some village along the trekking routes from which you can contact with your family and friends. some place there is also internet access which you can use by paying some charges. Also you can buy sim card for your cell phone by giving your Xerox copy of your passport and PP size photo.

In the cities, off course yes but once you are outside of the cities, all you have to pay in cash. Also you have exchange the currency in Nepali rupees before you go outside the cities. 
 

Generally, in Kathmandu you can allocate USD 15-20 for lunch and dinner. During trekking USD 10 to 15 per person a day will be enough to buy bottles of water, chocolates, biscuits, pay for the hot shower and a few drinks. 
 

Yes, charging facilities will be available in every guesthouse & lodges but sometime there maybe load shedding problem so it’s better to bring power bank or spare batteries. 
 

There are many restaurants available in Kathmandu city where you can find any delight of your choice. But in trekking route most teahouses menu you may find noodles soup, steam mo:mo, daal bhat, green salad, finger chips, eggs, potatoes, fresh vegetables. You can get tea, coffee, hot lemon, hot chocolate. Every day breakfast, lunch, dinner will be at a lodge. 
 

Along your trek we can add days at your request with additional costs to cover guides, porters, accommodation and food. Please consult with your guide and he will update our office in Kathmandu and we can make the arrangements accordingly.

If you are in private or solo trip it would be possible as your itinerary is very flexible where as if you were in group then this group the option would be limited so please make sure you discuss with your group and guide and your guide will update us accordingly. 

 

Lodges mostly serve the vegetarian meals so there is no problem at all for vegetarian. Also we always recommend our clients to eat vegetarian meals to avoid food poisoning. Non-veg meals at the high altitude are not safe for the stomach. 
 

Hot water in bucket will be provided for shower and you have to pay for hot water.

Yes, they have received training from NATHM (Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management).They have also received high altitude first aid training from KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Education Project).

Actually tipping is not compulsory, but small gesture of thanks to your guides and local porters. The level of the tip should reflect the level of satisfaction from and personal involvement with your guide.
