Tamang Heritage Trek is newly opened trekking in Nepal. Tamang Heritage Trail takes you through verdant Midlands of Nepal experiencing the beauty of this mountain region and the culture of the people who live here. The trekking trail passes through traditional Tamang villages where life, culture, and crafts have remained unchained since the beginning of the settlement. These treks merge an enchanting journey wherein you can enjoy the magnificent mountain views with the insight into the unique Tamang culture, alpine terrain, green meadows and rhododendron forest. You can enjoy the spectacular views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himalayan ranges. The culture, traditional, wooden styles of the village , spectacular views of the mountain, local monasteries & taking bath in natural hot spring is the main attraction of this area.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival at Kathmandu airport (1,300m).
  • Day 2 : Kathmandu sightseeing & trek preparation.
  • Day 3 : Drive to Syabrubesi (1,460m)- 08 hours drive.
  • Day 4 : Trek to Gatlang (2,200m)- 05 hours.
  • Day 5 : Trek to Tatopani (2,607m)- 06-07 hours.
  • Day 6 : Trek to Thuman (2,238m)- 05-06 hours.
  • Day 7 : Trek to Timure (1,762m)- 05 hours.
  • Day 8 : Trek to Briddim (2,229m)- 06 hours.
  • Day 9 : Trek to Syabru besi (1,460m)- 05 hours
  • Day 10 : Drive back to Kathmandu(6 hours) .
  • Day 11 : Transfer to Airport for final depature.

Day 1 : Arrival at Kathmandu airport (1,300m).

Our company representative will welcome you at the airport,s/he will be displaying your name outside the airport terminal and transfer to respective hotel with private tourist vehicle.

Day 2 : Kathmandu sightseeing & trek preparation.

After morning breakfast your sightseeing trip will start. you will have a private vehicle and professional english speaking tour guide. We will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square (world heritage site), Swyambhunath stupa-The monkey temple (world heritage site), Pashupatinath temple (world heritage site) and Boudhanath.

Day 3 : Drive to Syabrubesi (1,460m)- 08 hours drive.

Today, After early morning breakfast we will drive to Syabrubesi north of Kathmandu. The road is well paved till Trisuli bazar and after trisuli we have to drive through off road. On the way you will enjoy the scenery, beautiful landscape, terrace farm, villages having typical Nepali houses and snow peaked moutains as well.

Day 4 : Trek to Gatlang (2,200m)- 05 hours.

After morning breakfast, one and half hour ascent walking to reach the view point from where we can see te fantastic view of Ganesh himal, Gosaikunda range and the view of Goljang valley. Then the trails leads you downhill to Goljang valley where we stop for our lunch.After walking around 3 hours we will reach a beautiful Tamang villge called Gatlang.

Day 5 : Trek to Tatopani (2,607m)- 06-07 hours.

Today we have to walk around 6-7 hours, The walk begins by descending to Thangbuchet (near Chilime village) by the Bhotekoshi river. You will enjoy the view of Chilime hydropower dam. After having lunch the trail ascends uphill till the suspension bridge. After crossing this bridge the trail ascend continues untill you reach tatopani which literally means "hot water".You can have hot spring bath at bathing areas in the lap of the mountains.Local people believe that water have a healing quality that washes away your aches,pains and sin. Overnight at tatopani.

Day 6 : Trek to Thuman (2,238m)- 05-06 hours.

After breakfast trek starts ascending to Nagthali Danda (3,300m) the high open grassland with amazing views of snow covered himalayas. The panoramic views of Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh himal and Sanjen ranges can be distinctly experienced from Nagthali. Overnight at Thuman.

Day 7 : Trek to Timure (1,762m)- 05 hours.

After an enjoyable time on the highest spot of this trip at Nagthali, morning walk continues with a downhill for a while and then heading towards Timure which is located on route to Tibet border of Kyirong, however our walk leads at least 4 hours away from the border of Tibet. Walking on the gradual path for a while through lovely farm lands with great views of surrounding area and then reaching at a large village of Timure. you will have interact with the locals & explore the Tamang village in the afternoon.

Day 8 : Trek to Briddim (2,229m)- 06 hours.

Today, After morning breakfast walks leads back towards on route Syabrubesi, but first our walk leads to a descend towards Trisuli river just by the old classic trail to Tibet, after crossing the river then heading more downhill and finally arriving at Briddim village. We can see palce with intersting old monastry. Overnight at Briddim.

Day 9 : Trek to Syabru besi (1,460m)- 05 hours

Today is the final & last walk of this enjoyable & memorable trip, walk leads to a long descend through enchanting forest of rhododendron,pines,oaks and magnolia trees with views of Ganesh and Manaslu himalayan range. Our route leads following the langtang river most of the way on the downhill path till Syabrubesi village. Overnight at Syabru besi.

Day 10 : Drive back to Kathmandu(6 hours) .

After a wonderful time up in the high hills of Langtang area, morning drive to Kathmandu the drive leads uphill to Dhunche town the main important town of Langtang area, from here drive meanders on the winding downhill all the way to Kathmandu. Overnight at kathmandu.

Tamang Heritage trek is suitable for any kind of person who is moderately fit, no previous experience is required. To condition, yourself for the trek, some physical fitness programs such as walking, running, swimming and hiking are recommended before you embark on your journey. Any person suffering from a pre-existing medical condition or diseases must seek medical advice before considering any trek.
Yes, our company representative will be there to greet you. He will be displaying Himalayan  Excursion Nepal sign board outside the airpot terminal. You will be transferred to your hotel by our private vehicle.
Best season for trekking is usally March-April and October-November but Tamang heritage trek can be done in February,June,April,May and December as well.
Weather in the mountains is very difficult to predict.At night it is generally cold and the days are generally warm.The temperature could be as high as 25 degree celsius to -20 degree celsius low.
During trek guesthouse does not facilitate with heater or air conditioner,But they have facility of hitting the dinning area by providing kerosene or metal heater. USD 2 to USD 5 per person would be applicable to use this service and this is payable directly to the guesthouse.
Depending on nature of travel we provide different vehicle service.we provide tourist vehicles for sightseeing, city tours and airport pickups-drops. The transfer from Kathmandu to Syabru besi and Melamchi pul Bazaar to Kathmandu will be by public bus as there is no facility  of any tourist bus in this route.How ever we can arrange private vehicle if needed. 
There are landline telephone in some village along the trekking routes from which you can contact with your family and friends. some place there is also internet access which you can use by paying some charges.Also you can buy sim card for your cell phone by giving your xerox copy of your passport and PP size photo.
In the cities, off course yes but once you are outside of the cities, all you have to pay in cash. Also you have exchange the currency in Nepali rupees before you go outside the cities.
Generally, in kathmandu you can allocate USD 15-20 for lunch and dinner.During trekking USD 10 to 15 per person a day will be enough to buy bottles of water,chocolates,biscuits,pay for the hot shower and a few drinks.
Yes, charging facilities will be available in every guesthouse & lodges but sometime there maybe load shedding problem so its better to bring power bank or spare batteries.
There are many restaurant available in Kathmandu city where you can find any delight of your choice. But in trekking route most teahouses.On the menu you may find noodles soup,steam mo:mo,daal bhat, green salad, finger chips,eggs,potatoes, fresh vegetables. You can get tea,coffee,hot lemon,hot chocolate. Every day breakfast, lunch , dinner will be at a lodge.
Along your trek we can add days at your request with additional costs to cover guides,porters,accomodation and food.Please consult with your guide and he will update our office in Kathmandu and we can make the arrangments accordingly.

If you are in private or solo trip it would be possible as your itinerary is very flexible where as if you were in group then this group the option would be limited so please make sure you discuss with your group and guide and your guide will update us accordingly.
Lodges mostly serve the vegetarian meals so there is no problem at all for vegetarian. Also we always recommend our clients to eat vegetarian meals to avoid food poisoning. Non-veg meals at the high altitude is not safe for the stomach.
Hot water in bucket will be provided for shower and you have to pay for hot water.
Yes, they have received training from NATHM (Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management).They have also received high altitude first aid training from KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Education Project).
Actually tipping is not compulsory, but small gesture of thanks to your guides and local porters.The level of the tip should reflect the level of satisfaction from and personal involvment with your guide.
