Everest 3 High Pass Trekking

Everest 3 high pass trek is exciting, elaborate and one of the dashing trekking trails in the Everest region which offers many passes including 3 main high passes Kongma La (5,535m/18,159ft), Cho La (5,380m/17,650ft) and Renjo La (5,388m/17,513ft). This trek takes you closet to the 8000 meters’ highest mountains including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Cho Oyu. View from Kalapatthar (5545m) and Gokyo Ri (5,357m) is really worth it, which helps to forget difficulty of entire steep trails. The magnificent close up views of mountains from Kalapatthar provides relief to the weary trekkers.  

 

The trail passes through high altitude dense rhododendron forest, Flora & Fauna, monasteries, lakes, mountains and glacier. Khumbu valley offers the remarkable Sherpa villages, inhabitants of the Himalayan region. After extreme adventurous trek our route leads back to Lukla for the 35 minutes’ short scenic flight back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary
After arrival at international airport, Our company representative's will welcome you and transfer to the related hotel. Overnight at hotel with Bed & Breakfast basis.
Today, After breakfast the day will start to our guided trip to cultural world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley; the pilgrimage sites of Hindus temple Pashupatinath, the world biggest Bouddhanath stupa and Swoyambhunath stupa also known as monkey temple. After exploring the surrounding areas, we also visit Kathmandu Durbar square with unique architectures and kumari (living goddess). After sightseeing at evening time pre-trip discussion and introduce with our fellow trekking staff for your adventure trip. Overnight at hotel with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.
Today, Early in the morning fly to Lukla airport. From Lukla we'll pass Chaurikharka village and make a descent towards the Ghat (2,530 m). The trail follows the bank of the Dudhkoshi river. To assist acclimatization, this first day trek is for 3-4 hrs short distance. If you are still interested to do more activities they will have an opportunity to do side trip to monastery around in Phakding. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.
From Phakding the trail follows the Dudh Koshi river and reaches Zamphuti. From there we can see excellent views of Thamserku peak. Then the trail climbs to Chomoa, the site of an agricultural project, an interesting place to have a look around and gain an insight into the farming way of life of these people. From chomoa, the trail again climbs to Monjo (2,840 m) and enters the Mt. Everest National park. Walking some distance uphill you will be at Jorsale (2,830 m) and after a long climb with views of Mt. Everest peeking over the ridge of Nuptse (7,879 m). The trail reaches the street of Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.
Today, we take rest for the proper acclimatization with some excursion. We can hike to the Everest view hotel, the ideal place to overview some of the outstanding mountains such as Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Lhotse etc. You can walk around the Khumjung valley, Hillary school and Khunde hospital and then return back to Namche. In Namche Bazaar you can spend some time interacting with the fun-loving Sherpa and Rai peoples. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.
Today, we leave Namche bazaar and walk for sometime along the ridge and then descend to Dudh Koshi river at Phunkithanka. Then after crossing the bridge we ascend in the steep path up to the Tengboche. After reaching Tengboche you will see the local Monastery. Tengboche have largest Monastery of Khumbu region. Today, from Tengboche the trail drops to Dingboche, crosses another exciting suspension bridge on the Imja Khola and climbs to Pangboche among est thousands of Mani stones. Our uphill trek continues, taking us to the quaint traditional Sherpa village of Dingboche with its exquisite views of Lhotse, Island peak and Ama-Dablam. We take our time so we avoid getting affected by the altitude. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.
On this day you may have full day rest or there are some places where you can go for a day hike; up to Chhukung (4,730 m) for acclimatization (point of climbing famous Island peak) or climb up to Nagarjun peak about two hours offer view of Imjaste valley with Dingboche village and Mt. Makalu (8,463 m) Ama Dablam, Island peak etc. and back to Dingboche for overnight stay. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.
Today, we can enjoy another day for acclimatization with only two hours of walk. We will have trip to Chhukung valley via the Imja Khola valley. We get a marvelous view of the surrounding mountains, especially Lhotse massive south wall. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.
This day is quit difficult as we cross Kongma La pass. At first we walk in the plain area in the valley and then ascend the steep path to the Kongma La pass amid the crags of this outlying ridge from nearby Nuptse. From the pass we descend steeply to the Khumbu Glacier. We cross the glacier and head to Lobuche. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.
Today, we leave Lobuche early morning, trekking up a rocky yak trail on the right side of the Khumbu Glacier towards Gorakshep, a walk of about three hours. The walk isn't difficult, but there are a few hills to crest, more memorials along the way, and you should feel the altitude. The last stretch of the trail snakes up and down glacial scree, and just before Gorakshep we get a view of Everest. Gorakshep, with Kalapattar just to the left is a welcome sight; the Himalayan Lodge has expanded , the rooms are lovely, the toilets are inside and the dinning room is always lively and warm. Food is even good, quite a feat at 5,180 meters, many days walk from the market. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.
This is another big and difficult day walk along the Khumbu glacier and up to Everest Base camp at 5,365 meters, the closest you can get Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipment. There will likely be a team there about to attempt the summit. The view of the Khumbu ice fall from base camp is spectacular. We return back to Gorakshep for the night stay. This will be one of the most difficult yet rewarding days of the trek. In the morning we climb Mt. kalapattar, a small peak. From Kalapattar we can see the most magnificent mountain panorama of Everest, the highest point on the planet at 8,848 meters, towers directly ahead and other giants, Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and countless others. Then we forward for Zongla. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.
Today, we trek downhill on a trail alongside the Khumbu Glacier. On the way we can enjoy view of the looming Awi Peak. After hiking for a while we begin to ascend. During the ascent, we see Chola Tsho lake which is nearby. We cross the Chola on a bridge before reaching Dzongla. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.
Today, we walk along the glacier route until we reach first lake of Gokyo. The trek is easier over flat path following Dudh Koshi river up to Gokyo. It is a windy valley and situated near the third lake. At Gokyo you are stunned by the natural beauty of Dudh Pokhari Lake. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.
Today, we take rest and explore the Gokyo valley. Gokyo is a trade center where the Sherpa people run lodges to provide the best services to the trekkers. Gokyo is situated by the side of Ngozumba glacier, the biggest glacier of Nepal. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.
Today, early in the morning we cross the Renjo La pass. From the pass we can see the views of Everest, Lhotse and surrounding mountains. We also see the incredible view of the Gokyo lake and Gokyo village below the Ngozumba glacier. From the pass we descend down on a stone staircase to Lunde where we stay overnight. This day we trek down to Thame, a sprawling village. From thame we can see the stunning views of the mountains like Thameserku, Kantenga, Kusum Kangguru etc. here we can explore the village and visit monastery established around 300 years ago. After breakfast we begin our walking in the flat trail and then descending to Thamo. In Thamo we can visit the Khari Gompa where you find Nuns and Monks. Then we head to Namche bazaar. Overnight at Guesthouse with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.
Today, finally we return to Lukla where the trek began, which will seem like a lifetime ago. Enjoying time to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part. Everest High Pass trek is suitable for any kind of person who is moderately fit, no previous experience is required. To condition yourself for the trek, some physical fitness programs such as walking, running, swimming and hiking are recommended before you embark on your journey. Any person suffering from a pre-existing medical condition or diseases must seek medical advice before considering any trek.

Yes, our company representative will be there to greet you. He will be displaying your name outside the airport terminal. You will be transferred to your hotel by our private vehicle.

Best season for trekking is usually March-April and October-November but Everest High Pass trek can be done in February, June, April, May and December as well.

Weather in the mountains is very difficult to predict. At night it is generally cold and the days are generally warm. The temperature could be as high as 25 degree Celsius to -20 degree Celsius low.

During trek guesthouse does not facilitate with heater or air conditioner, but they have facility of hitting the dining area by providing kerosene or metal heater. USD 2 to USD 5 per person would be applicable to use this service and this is payable directly to the guesthouse.

Depending on nature of travel we provide different vehicle service. We provide tourist vehicles for sightseeing, city tours and airport pickups-drops. We book flight ticket through Tara Air, Goma Air and Nepal Airlines air for the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and vice versa.

There are landline telephone in some village along the trekking routes from which you can contact with your family and friends. Some place there is also internet access which you can use by paying some charges. Also you can buy sim card for your cell phone by giving your Xerox copy of your passport and PP size photo.

In the cities, off course yes but once you are outside of the cities, all you have to pay in cash. Also you have exchange the currency in Nepali rupees before you go outside the cities.

Generally, in Kathmandu you can allocate USD 15-20 for lunch and dinner. During trekking USD 10 to 15 per person a day will be enough to buy bottles of water, chocolates, biscuits, pay for the hot shower and a few drinks.

Yes, charging facilities will be available in every guesthouse & lodges but sometime there maybe load shedding problem so it’s better to bring power bank or spare batteries.

There are many restaurants available in Kathmandu city where you can find any delight of your choice. But in trekking route most of the teahouses menu you may find noodles soup, steam mo:mo, daal bhat, green salad, finger chips, eggs, potatoes and fresh vegetables. You can get tea, coffee, hot lemon, hot chocolate. Every day breakfast, lunch, dinner will be at a lodge.

Along your trek we can add days at your request with additional costs to cover guides, porters, accommodation and food. Please consult with your guide and he will update our office in Kathmandu and we can make the arrangements accordingly. If you are in private or solo trip it would be possible as your itinerary is very flexible where as if you were in group then this group the option would be limited so please make sure you discuss with your group and guide and your guide will update us accordingly.

Lodges mostly serve the vegetarian meals so there is no problem at all for vegetarian. Also we always recommend our clients to eat vegetarian meals to avoid food poisoning. Non-veg meals at the high altitude are not safe for the stomach.

Hot water in bucket will be provided for shower and you have to pay for hot water.

Yes, they have received training from NATHM (Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management).They has also received high altitude first aid training from KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Education Project).

Actually tipping is not compulsory, but small gesture of thanks to your guides and local porters. The level of the tip should reflect the level of satisfaction from and personal involvement with your guide.

Cancellation notice is required, minimum of 25 days prior to trip departure. If the reason is valid the trip shall then be termed as cancelled and the cancellation charge of 30% of the trip amount would be deducted from the advance paid.
